Caramel Macchiato

Description

An elegant and balanced hot drink: espresso coffee on a base of frothed milk, sweetened with vanilla syrup, and garnished with a drizzle of caramel. Ideal for a refined break, any time of day

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of espresso 
  • 250 ml of milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup 
  • 1 tablespoon caramel sauce/caramel topping for garnish

Preparation

  • Prepare the espresso (1 cup). 

  • Whip the milk until it forms a thick foam. 

  • Pour the vanilla syrup into the bottom of the cup. 

  • Add the milk foam to the cup, on top of the vanilla. 

  • Pour the espresso into the center of the foam, to create the classic “macchia” (macchiatura). 

  • Finish with a drizzle of caramel sauce over the foam
